Knockdara
This extension and renovation to a detached house in Malahide involved reorienting the interior of the house and adding a south facing glass facade extension to the new open plan living area. The new stairwell is backed by a double height glazed screen which brings light right into the main hallway and highlights the folded metal plate balustrade.
The new glazed entrance has a canted zinc roof thus repeating the language of the rear extension. The flipping of the house created a new west facing private rear garden that is both visually and physically connected to the new living dining space. Internally the finishes are minimal and refined with oak, walnut and white paint.
